We collect anonymised website usage data, including pages visited, browser type, device type, and approximate geographic location (country level). This data is used solely for statistical analysis and to improve the website's performance.
Email Communications
Email addresses are used for sending submission acknowledgements, peer review invitations, editorial decisions, publication notifications, and journal announcements. We do not send unsolicited commercial communications.
Reviewer Data
Reviewer names, affiliations, and review history are stored in our system for editorial management. Reviewer identities are kept confidential from authors in accordance with our double-blind review policy, unless open review is agreed upon.

2. How We Use Your Data
Personal data collected by FPCHI is used exclusively for the following purposes:
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial or marketing purposes. Data is only shared with third-party service providers (such as hosting providers or plagiarism detection services) strictly to the extent necessary to operate the journal, and only with providers who maintain adequate data protection standards.
3. Data Retention
Published Articles
Author names, affiliations, and article metadata are retained permanently as part of the scholarly record. This is a core requirement of academic publishing and cannot be removed.
Rejected or Withdrawn Submissions
Manuscript files and associated correspondence for rejected or withdrawn submissions are retained for a period of 5 years for editorial integrity purposes, after which they are securely deleted.
User Accounts
Inactive user accounts with no submission history may be deleted after 3 years of inactivity. Users may also request account deletion at any time (see Your Rights below).
Review Records
Reviewer assignments and anonymised review records are retained as part of the editorial archive for 10 years to ensure accountability and audit capacity.
4. Your Rights Regarding Personal Data
Right of Access
You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Requests can be made by contacting the editorial office.
Right of Rectification
You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data. You can update most profile information directly through your account settings.
Right of Erasure
You may request deletion of your personal data. Note that data associated with published articles cannot be erased, as it forms part of the permanent scholarly record.
Right of Portability
You may request a copy of your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format for transfer to another service provider where technically feasible.
Right to Withdraw Consent
You may withdraw consent to receive journal announcements or email notifications at any time by updating your notification preferences in your account settings or contacting the editorial office.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe your data has been handled in violation of applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority in your jurisdiction.
5. Data Security
Technical and Organisational Measures
FPCHI implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission, secure server hosting, regular software updates, and restricted access to personal data on a need-to-know basis. However, no method of internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute data security.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals, FPCHI will notify affected users and, where required by law, the relevant supervisory authority, within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.
6. Third-Party Services
Crossref / DOI
Article metadata (title, authors, abstract, DOI) is shared with Crossref for DOI registration and indexing in scholarly databases.
ORCID
If you link your ORCID iD, basic publication data may be shared with ORCID in accordance with their privacy policy, with your explicit consent.
Plagiarism Detection
Manuscript text may be submitted to plagiarism detection services (e.g., iThenticate). These services process manuscript content only and do not retain it beyond the screening process.
Web Hosting
This website is hosted on a secure server. The hosting provider may log anonymised access data (IP addresses, timestamps) for security monitoring in accordance with their own privacy policy.
7. Changes to This Privacy Statement
FPCHI reserves the right to update this Privacy Statement at any time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The date of the most recent revision will be indicated at the bottom of this page. Continued use of this website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated statement. We encourage users to review this page periodically.
